Problem:

The traditional way of finishing ironwork is to rub beeswax over the hot metal. The beeswax impregnates the metal creating a natural waterproof seal. Today, most companies hide the metal behind a layer of paint. We wanted to tell the story of the beeswax protecting the forged iron.

Solution:

Beehive brings to life this relationship whilst retaining the organic handmade feel of each unique pendant.
